Christmas in Pennsylvania 2021: Things to See and Do

There’s nothing like Christmas. Let’s face it, it’s not just a one day affair. It’s literally a month (or more) appreciation and celebration of the Christmas season. What’s even more fun than watching Christmas movies or listening to Christmas songs, are Christmas activities!

When people think of Christmas activities or things to see, it’s Christmas in New York people really think about. My friends always ask me to take them to New York City during December because of the beautiful lights, shows, and activities. But that’s for another post.

However, have you thought about Christmas in Pennsylvania? Although it’s not quite like The Big Apple, Pennsylvania can hold its own. There’s so many beautiful and fun things to see and do during the month of December. Here are some of the awesome Christmas activities you can see and do here in Pennsylvania!

Koziar’s Christmas Village

This one is a fun one. It more of a local place in Pennsylvania to visit. If you love displays of Christmas lights, decorations, and beautiful colors, then this is the place for you! Koziar’s Christmas Village is located in Bernville, PA and is an amazing place to see!

It’s been going on for over 70 years and it’s a local tradition to drive down the backroads to get to this little neighborhood that’s adorned with Christmas lights and decorations. It’s worth the trip to see it all.

Go To A Market

What is Christmas, or winter for that matter, if you don’t go to a market? Theres a lot of cute little markets in Pennsylvania during this time of year, both big and small. Like, the Christmas Village market in LOVE park in Philadelphia, or the Christkindlmarkt in Bethlehem.

Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean that all fun has to stop. There are a variety of winter sports to participate in when you’re in Pennsylvania. If you don’t mind the cold, then here are some activities you can do.

  • Hiking
  • Snow Tubing

  • Skiing
  • Ice Skating

There’s nothing like some outdoor fun during the winter, especially for the holiday season.

Explore Mt. Gretna

Mt. Gretna is a small but mighty and beautiful little area in Pennsylvania. Located in the Lebanon County, PA, Mt. Gretna is home to beautiful trails, shops, landscape, and a lake. Plus, there’s festivals and shows in this little town. Mt. Gretna has a bit to see and do for such a small place.

Even during the holiday season, you can find things to see and do in Mt. Gretna. You can explore the many miles of trails, go skiing or snow tubing, or do some indoor activities like watching movies, shows, or roller skating. It’s a cute little hidden gem in Pennsylvania with a lot of historical background.

Bethlehem, PA is such a sight to behold during Christmas time. There’s a reason why it’s called, “Christmas City”. There’s such a variety of Christmas markets, tours, music, festivals, shows, and more in Bethlehem. For example, Christkindlmarkt is a market filled with lots of merchants selling homemade crafts, music, food, and more!

For 2021, tickets cost $10 and the market runs on the weekends from November 19th to December 19th. Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas if you didn’t go to see a Christmas show. The Nutcracker is a classic show to see around Christmas. However, there are other Christmas shows you can see throughout Pennsylvania.
