Why You Should Travel During Fall

Fall is here and I am super excited for it! The leaves are changing, the weather is getting cooler, and all of the fall festivities are springing up. Just because the weather is getting cooler and the days are getting shorter doesn’t mean you shy away from travel. On the contrary, traveling around this time is year is amazing! Due to the current situation, not everyone is in a position to travel. However, generally speaking beyond this current situation, fall is one of the best times of year to travel.

1. Cheaper Prices

First off, traveling during the fall is one of the most inexpensive times of year. Next to the off season towards the very beginning and end of the year, basically the winter season, traveling during the fall means that travel expenses will be a little bit cheaper. Everything from plane tickets to hotels, trains, and certain events are relatively cheaper when compared to the peak months during the summer. When prices drop, you definitely have to take advantage of it!

2. Fall Foliage

Another reason why you should travel during fall is because of the beautiful fall foliage! That’s right, traveling during this time of year means you get to witness the wonderful array of leaves and all their glory. Especially when you’re traveling to destinations with mountains or forests, there’s no way you’re going to miss out on seeing the beautiful colors and scenery!

3. Less Crowded

This is one of the many reasons why traveling during the fall is one of the best times to go! For the most part places, especially tourist hotspots, are not as crowded as they are during the peak season. I’ve traveled many times during the fall and I can attest to the fact that there aren’t as many people out and about this time of year compared to the summer months. If places are less crowded, that means fewer lines, less hassle, and more time and room to explore the things you want to explore.

4. Weather

You have to admit, there’s something about fall weather that’s absolutely amazing and cozy. When you travel during the fall you’re not going to be sweating or hot when you’re out and about traveling all day. Depending on the location you plan on visiting, the weather can be very cool, mild or warm still, but it won’t be blistering hot like summer or freezing cold like winter. With that being said, it makes your overall travel experience more enjoyable walking around with nice, cool weather.

5. Fall Festivities

This is personally one of my favorite reasons to travel during the fall as well! The plethora of fall festivities that occur during this time of year is wonderful and it will sure enhance your travel experience. From pumpkin picking to apple picking, festivals, haunted attractions, and everything in between, there’s no shortage of fun fall activities to take part in when you travel!

6. Food

Last but not least, the food! When you hear apple or pumpkin pie, or even pecan pie, those are just some of the many delicious comfort foods we get to eat during the fall season. Each place has their seasonal dish or cuisine that doesn’t get cooked or baked during any other time of year. When you travel, you have to get the chance to try and experience different foods and cuisines you probably won’t get the chance to try at any other point in time.

Fall is one of the best times of year to travel and I hope these reasons have encouraged you to travel!
